Territorial Organization of Agriculture in the

Absheron–Khizi Economic Region

Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the agricultural potential of the Absheron-Khizi economic region and the territorial organization of agriculture within this area. During the research, the region’s soil and climatic conditions, employment indicators, types of agricultural products and production geography were examined and the existing opportunities and constraints in the sector were evaluated on a scientific basis. It was determined that the region is predominantly specialized in crop production, animal husbandry, horticulture, vegetable farming, and greenhouse agriculture, with clear trends toward specialization in these areas. The development of irrigation systems, efficient use of land resources, and application of modern agricultural technologies are identified as key factors in the geographical organization of agriculture. The article also highlights that the proper spatial distribution of agricultural sectors within the framework of territorial-economic planning holds strategic importance for ensuring sustainable regional development.
