The Policy Implemented by the Soviet Authority in the National-Moral Field in Azerbaijan (1920s-1940s)

Abstract

The article reveals the policy of the Soviet government in Azerbaijan in the field of religion, language, education, science in 1920-1940, established after the April occupation, and its essence. Disclosing negative factors after II world war Stalinism in the science and features of Azerbaijan. The Bolshevik government's struggle against religious figures, mosques, the Islamic religious rite of Muharram, and the holy holidays of Ramadan and Eid al-Adha in order to create a "Godless Society" and distance the Azerbaijani people from their spiritual roots and undermine their unity is being investigated. It was emphasized that history and geography, which are considered "political subjects", are under the complete control of the Communist Party, and that these subjects are used as the main ideological weapon in the formation of the "new man" who will be the founder of the socialist society, and in fact, the Soviet citizen. The article also examines the essence of the Soviet government's policy in the elimination of illiteracy, alphabet reforms in Azerbaijan. The reasons for the nationalization of BSU were investigated.
