The use of Oral Folk Literature in Learning New Words in Foreign Language Teaching and Their Impact on Motivation
Abstract
Motivation plays an important role in human life. An important factor for making wishes and making efforts to realize these wishes is motivation. Motivation is the desire to continue making efforts towards meaning, purpose, and life. At the same time, motivation is the process that initiates, directs, and continues purposeful behavior. This is whether it is reading a book or any action is taken in daily life. Whatever the human body needs, that desire is fulfilled. That is, motivation arises when the body fulfills the desires it needs.
Motivation encompasses the emotional, social, biological, and cognitive forces that activate behavior and is the driving force of human behavior. In everyday life, the term "motivation" is used to describe why a person does something.
Oral folk literature is also widely used as motivation when explaining a new lesson in foreign language lessons. However, at the initial stage, when teaching legends, riddles, fairy tales and riddles, the teacher should provide brief information about them. He should briefly explain that they are products of oral folk literature, and the history behind their creation.
