Bird Flu (Grippus Avium)
Abstract
In this article, in order to combat the disease, it is very important to keep birds of the same age group in groups, to properly observe veterinary and sanitary rules, and to comply with veterinary standards.
Regular cleaning and disinfection of farms should be carried out, and tools and equipment used in poultry farming should be disinfected. In case of disease in farms, unhealthy groups of birds should be killed bloodlessly using stunning methods and should be destroyed by burning.
Healthy birds are slaughtered for meat, and if pathological changes characteristic of individual farmer farms are observed in the slaughtered carcasses, the carcasses are disposed of.
Eggs taken from sick, diseased, and suspicious birds can be used after boiling for 10 minutes.
Strict quarantine is imposed on farms where influenza is registered. Eggs taken from farms that are unhealthy due to influenza are not incubated. Healthy eggs should be used for incubation. Feathers and down from farms that are unhealthy or suspected of having the disease should be collected and neutralized. For this purpose, feathers and down should be dried in special drying facilities at a temperature of 85-90 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes, or disinfected in special containers with a 3-4% solution of formaldehyde at a temperature of 45-50 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
