Development Prospects of Green Infrastructure in Baku City and Impact on Urban Sustainability

Abstract

The development of green infrastructure in Baku city is an important issue in terms of ensuring urban sustainability and increasing ecosystem services. Along with urban development, the application of green infrastructure plays an important role in protecting natural resources, taking measures against climate change and improving the quality of life of citizens. Green infrastructure is an approach that combines trees, greenery, parks, gardens and natural ecosystems, aimed at preserving the ecological balance in urban space and efficiently using natural resources.

For Baku, the development of such infrastructure will have a positive impact on issues such as meeting the needs of the city's growing population, improving air quality, water management and preventing natural disasters. Increasing greenery in urban areas, in addition to helping citizens lead a healthy lifestyle, ensures the aesthetic beauty of the city.

Green infrastructure is also economically beneficial, as such projects create new jobs, develop the tourism sector and contribute to the local economy. These factors affecting urban sustainability leads to positive changes not only in the environmental, but also in the social and economic spheres. The prospects for the development of green infrastructure in Baku can also be further strengthened with the active participation of local communities and the partnership of the state.
