Organization of Speech Therapy Work with Preschool Children
Abstract
A speech therapist is a teacher who is engaged in the correction and development of speech. Most often, a speech therapist works with children up to 7 years old, so for this profession it is important to have the skills to work with young children and knowledge of developmental psychology. Children can be very funny: they come up with their own names for objects, sometimes talk cutely or mix sounds. At one age this is completely natural, but at another age it can already cause concern. A speech therapist can help find out if everything is in order with the child and correct the situation. All children start talking at about the same age, some a little earlier, some a little later. Most of them easily pronounce sounds, build phrases and remember new words, but some need to attend additional classes with a speech therapist.
