Nazrin Mammadova

Abstract. This article examines the theoretical foundations and practical models of creating a supportive learning environment for 3rd-4th grade students. Based on modern pedagogical approaches – constructivist, humanistic, and inclusive – the study emphasizes the importance of fostering not only students’ academic achievement but also their socio-emotional development. The core components of a supportive environment – physical, psychological, social, and pedagogical – are analyzed, and their interrelated nature is highlighted. The article explores the application of cooperative learning, social-emotional learning (SEL), differentiated instruction, and project-based learning in primary education. In addition, the relevance of these models within the framework of the Azerbaijani national curriculum is discussed. Particular attention is given to the role of the teacher as a reflective practitioner in establishing an effective, student-centered, and supportive learning environment.
