Activities of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan: Historical Stages in the Development of Religious Personnel Training
Abstract
The article analyzes the revival of religious education in Uzbekistan after the Second World War and the main directions of the religious policy of the USSR. It shows what measures were taken for the establishment of religious educational institutions and the training of religious workers. Special attention is paid to the measures implemented by the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Central Asia and Kazakhstan. The author comes to the following conclusion: despite the pressure and tensions of the Soviet system, SADUM muftis actively participated in the organization of educational activities of religious educational institutions.
