Analysis and Evaluation of the Scientific Basis of the

Biogas Production Process

Abstract

Biogas production holds particular importance in the development of renewable energy sources in modern times. The analysis of the scientific basis of this process is essential both for increasing energy efficiency and for contributing to the solution of environmental problems. Biogas is obtained mainly as a result of the decomposition of organic waste under anaerobic conditions. The activity of microorganisms involved in this process, temperature, pH environment, and substrate composition are considered the main factors determining the quality and quantity of production.

The article analyzes the theoretical and practical foundations of biogas production and compares various technological approaches. At the same time, aspects such as the environmental advantages of the process — reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, efficient waste management, and the possibility of producing fertilizer for agriculture — are evaluated. Consequently, the analysis of the scientific basis of biogas production shows that the development of this field plays an important role not only in energy supply but also in maintaining ecological balance.
