Analysis of Lexical-Semantic Categories Creating
Fuzzy Meaning in Electronic News Headlines
Abstract
This article analyzes lexical-semantic categories that frequently generate fuzzy meanings in headlines published on electronic mass media portals, based on semasiological, contextual, and fuzzy logic methods. The main aim of the study is to determine the frequency of use of lexical-semantic categories that cause the emergence of fuzzy meaning in leading electronic media within their context, to examine the expression of different meanings, and to investigate how the use of such linguistic units affects the perception of information by readers and, in general, the formation of public opinion and viewpoints in society regarding any issue. The findings emphasize the importance of selecting lexical-semantic units in electronic news sources, particularly in headlines, and may promote more effective use of language in shaping public consciousness in the right direction.
