Analysis of the Results of Municipal Elections Held in 2025 in the
Republic of Azerbaijan
Abstract
Municipal elections are considered a significant element of the local self-government system in democratic societies, as they ensure the direct participation of citizens in managing their living environments. This reflects the political maturity of society and is seen as an important indicator of trust in democratic institutions and the legal culture of the population.
Municipal elections play an essential role in the formation and strengthening of local self-government systems, allowing citizens to directly participate in the management of their residential areas. This process reflects the level of political maturity and public confidence in democratic institution, also demonstrates the legal culture of society. Local governance, as the closest layer of the state, plays an important role in the daily life of the population. Therefore, municipal elections are not only a form of political participation, but also an important mechanism in terms of ensuring local development, ensuring social justice and protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
The article also analyzes the results of the municipal elections held in 2025, the impact of these elections on the local governance system and the legal and organizational changes implemented in this direction.
Municipal elections also act as an important mechanism of democratic development in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The municipal elections held on January 29, 2025, can be considered an important milestone in the development of minucipal governance in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
