Artificial Intelligence and its Role in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
Abstract
This article systematically analyzes the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in information and communication technologies (ICT), its application areas, as well as the challenges alongside the advantages it creates. The study initially examines the historical development stages of AI, its fundamental theoretical approaches, and its integration with ICT. Subsequently, the digital development strategy of Azerbaijan and local examples of AI technology implementation are analyzed. The main objective of the article is to evaluate the impact of AI on ICT systems and to assess the technological, social, and ethical aspects of this process. Based on recent scientific literature and international sources, it is demonstrated that AI provides significant advantages in data processing, security, and service efficiency. Thanks to these technologies, both individual users and organizations can manage information flows more effectively and gain competitive advantages by improving service quality. At the same time, drawbacks such as privacy violations, bias, high financial requirements, and ethical issues have been identified. The article offers recommendations for mitigating these risks through strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing transparency, and applying ethical principles. In conclusion, the importance of balanced approaches, regulatory frameworks, and continuous scientific research for the effective and ethical use of AI in ICT is emphasized.
