Brand Perception of Consumers in Azerbaijan: Current Situation and Trends

Rauf Orujov

Abstract. Brand perception among consumers in Azerbaijan has undergone significant changes in recent years due to economic development, digital transformation, and increasing exposure to global markets. Azerbaijani consumers are becoming more brand-conscious and place greater importance on factors such as product quality, reputation, reliability, and customer experience when making purchasing decisions. International brands continue to enjoy strong recognition and trust, particularly in sectors such as technology, fashion, cosmetics, and food products. Many consumers associate global brands with higher quality standards, innovation, and prestige. However, local brands have also gained popularity by offering products that reflect national culture, competitive pricing, and a better understanding of local consumer needs. Social media and digital marketing have become major influences on brand perception. Consumers increasingly rely on online reviews, influencer recommendations, and brand engagement on digital platforms. Younger generations, especially Generation Z and Millennials, are more likely to evaluate brands based on authenticity, social responsibility, and environmental awareness.
