Break Bias – Enhancing the Role of Technology in Identifying and Preventing Gender Bias in Society
Abstract
In daily life, whether at school, the workplace, or within the family environment, gender-based biases continue to persist and often go unnoticed or unresolved. Despite increasing awareness of gender equality, many individuals lack safe and reliable channels to share their experiences. This article introduces the Break Bias initiative, a technology-driven platform designed to identify, visualize, and discuss instances of gender bias. By introducing an anonymous, interactive platform offering psychological support, the initiative aims to strengthen public awareness, empathy, and constructive dialogue. Break Bias offers not only a data mapping tool but also AI-based psychological support and a secure communication environment, enabling users to share their experiences without fear. The study emphasizes the role of technological innovation as a catalyst for social justice, demonstrating that technology can serve not only for convenience but also for fostering equality and ethical awareness. It is highlighted that Break Bias is more than a technological initiative; it represents a platform for social change and justice. The project demonstrates that technology can be a powerful instrument not only for facilitating daily life but also for building a more equitable and inclusive society.
