Efficiency and Optimization: Ways to Improve the Technical and
Economic Efficiency of Highly Deviated Horizontal Wells Drilling
Abstract
The drilling of highly deviated horizontal wells is of critical importance in the modern oil and gas industry for increasing production, ensuring more efficient reservoir exploitation, and optimizing costs. These wells enhance productivity by creating a larger contact area with the reservoir under complex geological conditions, while simultaneously minimizing environmental impacts. However, high deviation angles, extended horizontal sections, increased mechanical loads, and technological risks introduce additional challenges to the drilling process, which can reduce technical and economic efficiency.
This abstract provides a comprehensive analysis of methods to enhance efficiency in drilling highly deviated horizontal wells. These methods include the optimization of the drilling plan, application of modern drilling technologies and equipment, proper selection of drilling fluids, precise trajectory control, reduction of time and cost losses, and risk management. Additionally, the impact of digital monitoring systems, automated control methods, and real-time data analysis on economic efficiency is explored. Consequently, it is demonstrated that the integration of technical and economic approaches plays a key role in ensuring sustainable, safe, and profitable production in the drilling of highly deviated horizontal wells.
