Formation of Citizenship Position in Teaching the Topic of Functions in Mathematics Lessons in the Context of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”
Abstract
The declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” in our country necessitated the integration of civic and legal values into the teaching process in education. The study examines the possibilities of applying the topic of functions in the VII grade “Mathematics” textbook in this direction. The aim is to determine the potential of the topic of functions to form qualities such as civic responsibility, legal thinking, and respect for national values in students, not limited to the acquisition of mathematical knowledge.
Functional models were associated with the return of the population, school construction, and analysis of social processes in the liberated territories of Karabakh and East Zangezur after the 44-day Patriotic War. The results show that teaching functions in a social context serves not only mathematical literacy, but also the development of civic awareness and social responsibility.
