Interests as a Driving Force of Cognitive Activity of Adolescents
Abstract
Interests are one of the most important factors underlying the cognitive activity of adolescents. The dynamics of the development of interests depend on numerous factors. These factors have both psychological, pedagogical, and social origins and are manifested in educational activities. The article discusses these features of adolescent interests and the conditions for their development.
The cognitive activity of adolescents is built on the educational process in which they are participants. Activity in the educational process is conditioned by the interest of students in the subject, the teacher, and the educational situation as a whole. Educational interests ultimately manifest themselves in cognitive motivation and cognitive interests.
The problems of the formation of interests in childhood and adolescence have been studied in many studies. Currently, the interests of adolescents are studied in a broader sense as important aspects of the socialization and personality formation of adolescents.
