Key Digital Technologies Used in Aviation

Abstract. Key digital technologies used in aviation are widely applied to increase the efficiency and safety of the modern air transport sector. These technologies play a central role in the management of both cargo and passenger transport and are manifested in the following areas:

First, logistics management systems are digitized. In this area, blockchain technology makes documentation transparent in cargo transport, and the digitization of airline bills of lading makes it possible to track cargo from origin to destination. This minimizes time loss in customs and terminal operations and creates conditions for optimizing the supply chain.

Second, artificial intelligence (AI) is applied to the analysis of flight data. The AI system predicts demand, optimizes aircraft loading rates, and makes passenger transport planning more efficient. This also helps reduce resource use and energy consumption of airline operations.

Third, biometric and facial recognition technologies are used in passenger services. These technologies allow passengers to quickly complete all transition processes without presenting a passport and boarding pass. At the same time, intelligent tracking systems provide passengers with the status of each suitcase being loaded onto the plane in real time and minimize the problem of lost luggage.

Fourth, the introduction of paperless documentation and e-commerce systems increases the speed and efficiency of cargo transportation. Also, the introduction of green technologies serves to reduce carbon emissions and increase environmental sustainability.
