Modern Guided Missile Systems and Their Fields of Application

 

Abstract

 

The development of modern technologies has not bypassed the military field, resulting in the emergence and widespread use of guided missile systems. These systems in modern battlefield is distinguished by its high accuracy, the ability to strike targets from a long distance and versatile areas of application, and serves to minimize the losses of friendly forces' personnel. Guided missile weapons are used in various types of combat operations for the purpose of attack and defense, the destruction of equipment and manpower, the destruction of strategic targets and protection from air attacks. These systems, produced by various countries, have become an integral part of modern military strategy. This article will analyze in detail the types of guided missile systems, their technological features and their areas of application. The mentioned missile weapons are one of the main elements of modern armies and are widely used in various military operations. These weapons are designed to deliver precise strikes to targets and are available in many different types. In recent years, many of these systems have been added to the arsenal of the Azerbaijani army.
