Probation Service as an Example of Social Service in Improving the Social Welfare of the Population

Abstract

This evaluation analyzes the humanization of legislation and the expansion of alternative punishment measures that are not related to the isolation of the population. The purpose of this evaluation is to determine the extent to which these factors support social life. An analysis of the accused person's behavior, moral and psychological quality, social status, social work and service experiences, as well as the implementation of social adaptation and rehabilitation measures for them, conducted under the supervision of the probation service, reveals the need for new methods and approaches to this area by social service specialists. The present article endeavors to analyze the cases in which it is possible to utilize social adaptation and rehabilitation examples for socially more vulnerable and risk groups of the population for their violations of the law without excluding them from society, in accordance with the humanistic principles that are provided for by legislation. It can be posited that reintegrating persons into their families and society under the supervision of the probation service, with the implementation of commonsense measures and the utilization of preventive and protective social service methods, can have a significant positive impact on this matter. The prevailing societal consensus is that every society has a system of national moral values.

The application of the aspects of the Azerbaijani Turks' national customs and traditions, values and human virtues to the field of social service is a matter that merits consideration. The implementation of the moral and ethical ramifications of human virtues on individuals under probationary supervision, facilitated by the psychosocial education model, has the potential to engender amelioration in their challenging lifestyles. The significance of virtues in enabling individuals to cope with adversity, particularly in desperate situations, is a well-documented phenomenon. The pursuit of human virtues, often characterized by their inherent complexities, can have far-reaching consequences that extend beyond personal realms. These consequences have the potential to exacerbate existing challenges within family units and across societal structures, thereby creating an environment that fosters criminal activity among individuals grappling with socially challenging circumstances. It is hypothesized that the implementation of psycho-social education on the human virtues examined in this study, in conjunction with its structure as a group activity, will yield a favorable outcome in the context of social work within the probation service.
