Prospects for the Application of Modern Nanotechnologies in Agriculture
Abstract
In recent years, nanotechnology has become a field with great potential in agriculture. These technologies not only increase productivity, but also contribute to environmental protection and more efficient use of resources. Nano-fertilizers and nano-pesticides enhance soil health while minimizing their impact on the environment and increasing productivity. Through nano-sensors, soil moisture, temperature and nutrient levels are monitored in real time, reducing water and fertilizer waste. At the same time, early detection of diseases and pests allows farmers to reduce costs and achieve higher profits. However, there are still some scientific and ethical questions regarding the application of nanotechnology in agriculture that remain unanswered. More research is needed on the long-term effects of nanoparticles on living organisms and ecosystems. Azerbaijan has also begun initial research on the application of this technology in agriculture and is developing new projects in this field. In the future, nanotechnology holds great potential to ensure sustainable development in agriculture and increase food security. However, to fully utilize these technologies, both technical and legal frameworks must be properly established.
