Stylistic Potential of Professional Phraseology in English

 

Abstract

 

This article investigates the stylistic potential of professional phraseology in English. Professional phraseology encompasses fixed expressions and idioms specific to particular occupational fields. The study analyzes the lexical, semantic, and stylistic features of these phraseological units, as well as their expressive power in professional spoken and written communication. The research demonstrates that professional phraseology not only enhances stylistic richness but also ensures precision, emotional coloring, and alignment with cultural context in professional communication.

Professional phraseology is a set of fixed expressions and idioms used in specific professional fields, such as medicine, law, business, education, engineering and technology, etc. Such phraseological units are not only meaningful expressions, but also create a richness of expression in spoken and written language with their stylistic features. Professional phraseology serves various purposes: it provides accuracy in specialized text, increases communicative efficiency, and reflects the cultural context of professional communication.
