The Emergence and Development of Military Terms
in the Azerbaijani language
Abstract
The study reflects ideas about the main sources, methods, and periods of development of military terms in our language. It is shown that lexical units-terms related to the military field are an integral part of the general lexical system of the language to which they belong and have been enriched as a result of socio-political events and wars that occurred in different periods. The presented article discusses terms of both Turkic origin and borrowed Arabic and Persian origin that passed from Russian and European languages in later periods.
At the same time, in the process of the emergence and formation of terms, the internal resources of the language, derivational elements, internal methods, standardization, etc. issues were taken into account. As a result, it was concluded that the military terms of our language developed as a result of national and international influences.
