The Use of Electronic Dictionaries and Translation Engines in the Modern World
Murad Farajzadeh
Abstract. The article discusses the role of electronic dictionaries and translation engines in modern multilingual communication, language learning, and translation practice. It highlights the advantages of electronic dictionaries, such as fast lexical access, pronunciation support, contextual examples, grammatical information, and multimedia features. The text also examines the development of artificial intelligence and neural machine translation, especially through tools such as Google Translate, DeepL, and Microsoft Translator. However, it emphasizes that machine translation still has limitations, especially between structurally different languages such as Azerbaijani and French. The article concludes that the best translation results are achieved when digital technologies support, rather than replace, human linguistic competence and cultural judgment.
