Types of Phraseological Combinations
Abstract
The article extensively discusses the stages of development of phraseologisms in Azerbaijani and English, their classification and the main problems encountered during their translation. First, general information is provided about the concept of phraseology, its role and importance in linguistics are emphasized. Then, the structure of phraseological expressions, semantic shades and their impact on the language are analyzed. The important role played by these phraseological units in enriching the language, increasing stylistic expressiveness and communication in the modern era is emphasized. In particular, the problems arising during the translation of phraseological units, the issues of preserving their semantic equivalence, and the preservation of cultural and stylistic shades are discussed in detail. In this process, taking into account the context, accurately conveying the meaning of phraseological units and preserving their functional loads are of particular importance. Incorrect translation of phraseological units can lead to changes in the meaning of the text and misunderstandings. Therefore, both the internal characteristics of the language and cultural factors should be taken into account when translating such expressions. In conclusion, it is determined that phraseological units are becoming more widely used in both Azerbaijani and English, and their correct translation is important in terms of ensuring the effectiveness of communication.
