Types of Publication Reiterations of Hüseyn Javid’s Works and Their Comparative Analysis (based on stereotyped, reprinted, revised, updated and other editions)
Abstract
The attitude toward the creative legacy and personality of the prominent Azerbaijani poet Hüseyn Javid has not been unambiguous. The socio-political conditions of the period in which he lived, along with their severe consequences, cast a shadow over Hüseyn Javid, as they did on many intellectuals of his time. For a long period, his works were included in the list of prohibited literature; their publication was banned, and existing copies were withdrawn from bookstores and library circulation.
For this reason, the study of his literary heritage must be carried out gradually and analyzed objectively, taking into account the historical and cultural context of each specific period.
In the present article, we examine the publication history and editorial features of Hüseyn Javid’s works published in the Azerbaijani language between 1957 and 1980, following his political rehabilitation.
