Analysis of Ethical Behaviors in Higher Education Environment:
The Role and Influence of Teachers
Abstract
In the modern era, the quality of education is not only determined by the academic knowledge dilevered to students, but also by the ethical behavior, professional attitude, and values demonstrated by teachers during their pedagogical activities. However, the recent increase in unethical behaviors within the education system necessitates further scholarly inquiry into this domain. Particularly, the growing influence of social media and mass communication tools in everyday life has facilitated the rapid observation, dissemination, and large-scale public discussion of such instances. Consequently, the issue has extended beyond the boundaries of the education system, gaining prominence within broader societal discourse. This article explores the importance of professional ethics among teachers in higher education institutions and the impact of ethical behavior on students. It emphasizes that a teacher's ethical behavior shapes not only their personal professionalism but also students' academic achievements, motivation, and social skills. The article outlines the key characteristics of the professional teacher model. At the same time, it analyzes examples of unethical behavior and the factors that contribute to such conduct. These factors include lack of motivation, ineffective control mechanisms, low levels of social welfare, and the influence of technology. In conclusion, the reinforcement of an ethical behavior culture among educators is evaluated as a fundamental prerequisite for enhancing educational quality and fostering the positive development of students.
