Characteristics of Types of Speech Activity

Abstract. In terms of information encoding/decoding mechanisms, speech activity includes four main aspects, commonly referred to as types of speech activity: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Speaking is the sending of acoustic speech signals that carry information. Listening is the perception and understanding of acoustic speech signals. Writing is the encoding of speech signals using graphic symbols. Reading is the decoding of graphic symbols and the understanding of their meaning. These types of speech activity form the foundation of verbal communication. The effectiveness of verbal communication depends on the degree to which a person has developed these skills. The degree of development of speech skills serves as a criterion for assessing language proficiency and an indicator of a person's overall culture. In communication, the ability to read quickly and efficiently is a prerequisite for effectiveness. Everyone should develop reading skills, as it helps them process more information and saves time.
The article examines the basic principles of speech activity and presents interesting information about it.
