DISABILITIES IN THE LEGISLATION OF AZERBAIJAN

Summary
In modern times, more than 15% of the world's population, that is, more than 1 million people are disabled, and 4% of them are diagnosed with acute disability.  In the Republic of Azerbaijan, 6% of the total population, or 568,149 people, are disabled and people with disabilities.
Experience shows that people with this disability also face a number of restrictions and obstacles in society.  Restrictions or barriers to them eventually lead to poverty in the context of violations of education and labor rights, as well as the formation of psychological criteria.  From this point of view, the adoption and implementation of international law on the protection of persons with disabilities is important.

After gaining independence and becoming a full-fledged subject of international law, the Republic of Azerbaijan protects and safeguards the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as their social security and social adaptation, ensuring the participation of persons with disabilities in various spheres of public life and preventing negative situations between them.
Key words: disability, human rights, children with disabilities, discrimination, legislative acts
