Məqalədə turizm hüquq münasibətlərinin əsas subyektlərindən biri hesab olunan turistlərin statusunun hüquqi elementləri araşdırılmışdır. Araşdırma zamanı həm beynəlxalq sənədlərdə öz əksini tapmış turistlərin hüquq və vəzifələri, həm də müxtəlif dövlətlərin daxili qanunvericiliklərində təsbit olunmuş hüquq və vəzifələrə münasibət bildirilmişdir. Həmçinin, istehlakçı anlayışının turist terminin əhatə dairəsinə aid edilib-edilməməsi, turistin istehlakçı hesab olunmasının mümkünlüyü təhlil edilmişdir.

The article examines the legal elements of the status of tourists, who are considered one of the main subjects of tourism legal relations. During the study, the rights and responsibilities of tourists reflected in international documents, as well as the rights and responsibilities enshrined in the domestic legislation of different countries were discussed. Also, whether the concept of consumer is included in the scope of the term tourist, the possibility of considering a tourist as a consumer was analyzed.
