Məqalədə türk ədəbiyyatının böyük mütəsəvvüf şairi Yunus Əmrə ədəbi irsinin ingilis şərqşünaslığında tədqiqi və poetik incilərinin ingilis dilinə tərcüməsindən bəhs edilir. Burada, əsasən, şairin ədəbi irsininin tədqiqatçısı şotland əsilli Elyas Con Vilkinson Gibbin və Şərq aləminin dünyada tanınmasında böyük rolu olan Paul Smitin tədqiqatından bəhs edilir. Türk ədəbiyyatının, eləcə də Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatı klassik şairlərinin ədəbi irsinin Qərb dünyasında tanınmasında əvəzsiz rolu olan bu şərqşünasların Yunus Əmrə ilə bağlı fikir və düşüncələri məqalədə öz əksini tapır. Yunus Əmrə yaradıcılığına dərindən bələd olan Gibb və Paul Smit yeri gəldikcə şairin poeziyasından ingilis dilinə tərcümə etmişlər. Məqalədə həmçinin Yunus Əmrənin həyatı, yaşadığı dövr, ünsiyyətdə olduğu şairlər, təsirləndiyi şəxslər, dövrün mütəfəkkirləri haqqında da məlumat verilir. Xüsusilə, bu böyük şairin Mövlana Cəlaləddin Rumidən təsirlənməsi, dövrünün görkəmli şəxsiyyətləri ilə görüşləri barədə də danışılır. Məqalədə Yunus Əmrənin ingilis dilinə tərcümə edilmiş qəzəlləri orijinalla tutuşdurularaq oxşar və fərqli cəhətləri göstərilir və dəyərləndirilir.

The article discusses the study of the literary heritage of Yunus Emre, the great Sufi poet of Turkish literature, in English oriental studies and the translation of his poetic pearls into English. Here, the research of Scottish-born Elias John Wilkinson Gibb, a wonderful researcher of the poet's literary heritage, and Paul Smith, who played a great role in the recognition of the Eastern world in the world, are discussed here. The opinions and thoughts of these orientalists, who have an invaluable role in the recognition of the literary heritage of Turkish literature, as well as the literary heritage of the classical poets of Azerbaijani literature in the Western world, are reflected in the article. Gibb and Paul Smith, who are deeply familiar with Yunus Emre's works, have translated the poet's poetry into English. The article also provides information about Yunus Emre's life, the period he lived in, the poets he communicated with, the people he was influenced by, and the thinkers of the time. In particular, the influence of this great poet on Maulana Jalaladdin Rumi and his meetings with prominent personalities of his time are also discussed. In the article, Yunus Emre's ghazals translated into English are compared with the original, and their similarities and differences are shown and evaluated.
