Məqalədə 1937-1938-ci illərin kütləvi repressiyalarının Sovet hakimiyyətinin Azərbaycanda milli-mənəvi sahədə həyata keçirdiyi siyasətin tərkib hissəsi olduğu, bu repressiyaların Azərbaycan cəmiyyətinin zəkalarını, yaradıcı şəxslərini, özündə azərbaycançılıq fikirlərini daşıyan təbəqəsini məhv etməyi yönəldiyi araşdırılır. Onların əksinqilabçı-trotskiçi fəaliyyəti, silahlı üsyan hazırlamaqla hakimiyyət çevrilişi etmək və s.kimi uydurma ittihamlarla məhkum edilmələri göstərilir, “böyük terror”un mahiyyəti açıqlanır.

Mass repressions of the 1937-1938 years and higher education system of Azerbaijan
Abstract
The article deals with the mass repressions of the1937-1938 years, that were a part of the policy implemented by the Soviet authorities in the national and moral sphere in Azerbaijan, and that these repressions were targeted at destroying the intelligentsia, creative people, and the stratum that carried the idea of Azerbaijaniism. Their counter-revolutionary-Trotskyist activities, to make a revolution by preparing an armed uprising, etc., and the nature of the “great terror” was illuminated.
