Introduction
The idea of the establishment of the International Criminal Court was based on the idea that it was not sufficient for the international public opinion to leave the crimes that cause severe violations of human rights, such as genocide or crimes against humanity, to a state court, and that the criminals should be tried in a supranational court.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) came to life on 1 July 2002 under the effective provisions of the Rome Statute, which established it, and has carried out a significant judicial activity for the international community over many years.
