Artistic-Aesthetic Features of the Monument “Kitabi Dada Gorgud”

Abstract
Among the Azerbaijani sculptors, the Honored Artist Gorush Babayev has a special place. The sculptor received an excellent specialized education from a young age, at first, he graduated from Azerbaijan State Art Fine School named after A.Azimzadeh. Then he continued his studies in monumental sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. After returning to his homeland, he was engaged in improving his knowledge in the workshop of academician Omar Eldarov. Among
the works created by him the different monuments to such as Mirza Shafi Vazeh, Nizami Ganjavi, to the martyrs January 20 and others differ specifically. The author of the Statue of Nizami Ganjavi in St. Petersburg also belongs to Gorush Babayev. The works by Gorush Babayev, who has been engaged in labor activity in Turkey for a long time, were also erected in that country. The monument “The Girl Playing The Harp” in Erzurum in the city of Erzurum in Turkey, the series “Dreams of Turkey”, dedicated to Turkey in general, is a product of his work. Among the monuments created by Gorush Babayev in recent years, the monument “Kİtabi Dada Gorgud” has its place. Erected in 2013 in the park of Dede Gorgud, which occupies one of the prominent places in Baku, this monument differs from the sculptures and other works of art dedicated to this epic “Kitabi Dada Gorgud”. Many works have been devoted to the epic Dede Gorgud in Azerbaijani art. A competition was even announced when the 1300th anniversary of the epic was held. Although the competition ended without a winner, the majority of the leading art figures of that time took part in the competition with their works. The monument created by Gorush Babayev differs from the works submitted to the competition in that before this monument, artists and sculptors mainly focus on the image of Dede Gorgud himself, but are content with creating this image, they are content with just creating this image. Gorush Babayev decided to devote his work to the epic as a whole and was able to create such a work of art. The sculptor aims to convey the grandeur of the epic with this work. In the article it is told about the features of the craft of this monument.
