In Al-Farabi’s Comments
Abstract
The information on Al-Farabi and Sayf ad-Dawla and artistic images of scholars and geniuses who followed medieval Muslim traditions, took part in historical stories created with existing comments and explanations.
The scientific views developed with ancient heritage stage and theory of the musical system with Muslim traditions of Al-Farabi, one of the founders of first music theory in the brilliant period of Islamic culture – during the creation of the Temple of Science was further improved until the end of the Middle Ages and caused to new inventions by the scholars of Islam.
His musical knowledge realized during the period of Arab caliphate – analyses, experiences and considerations related to makams (lad), igaa (rhythm), masafa (interval) structures, music theory, artistic features of sounds and conformities are excellent examples of the art of music.
Interaction of knowledge that illuminates various fields in Al-Farabi’s researches was often associated with the presence and development of one topic under study within another topic. His experiences were related not only to researches on the field of music, but also on the logic and linguistics.
