Gender Analysis of the Labor Market in Azerbaijan
Abstract
The article analyzes the gender aspects of the labor market in Azerbaijan and examines the issues of women's and men's access to the labor market, employment levels, wage differentials, and gender inequality in occupational choices. The study assesses the causes of gender gaps and their socio-economic consequences based on official statistics, international reports, and academic sources. The results show that women's labor market participation is lower than men's and they are mainly concentrated in the social services, education, and health sectors. Wage differentials indicate that gender inequality persists. The article also suggests policies and reforms that can be implemented to ensure gender equality.
