Cooperation of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the Countries of the
Black Sea Region and the BSECO
Abstract
In the modern era, when the globalization process is taking place at a high pace, the creation of trade and economic unions with international content and character acts as a historical necessity, which is assessed as a guarantee of sustainable development of states and societies. Active participation in international organizations is a means of protecting both the state and the people it represents from isolation, strengthening its economic power, constantly increasing its political power and reliably ensuring its security. After our republic gained political independence, it was accepted as a full member of a large number of international organizations, such as the UN, the Council of Europe, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, GUAM, etc. within a short period of time. The presented article discusses the participation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in international organizations specializing in trade, economy, and transport and communication. The article devotes special attention to the activities of the "Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization", which was founded on June 25, 1992 with the participation of 11 states, to which the Republic of Azerbaijan also joined, the active participation of our country in this organization, the current activities of the organization in question, and the presentation of its perspective plans.
