Abstract. English is considered the language of international communication, business, and technology, and it also holds an important place in the Azerbaijani education system. In this context, group work is presented as one of the most effective methods in foreign language learning. Group work develops students’ cooperation, communication, leadership, and social skills, increases motivation, and makes learning more interesting and productive. Teachers act as facilitators in this process, while students become active participants. Group work is successfully applied not only in Azerbaijan but also in the education systems of many countries. Both teachers and students evaluate this method as motivating, accelerating learning, and strengthening communication skills. In addition, group work increases students’ sense of responsibility, helps them develop decision-making skills, and prepares them for teamwork, which is highly demanded in the modern labor market. This method also strengthens students’ self-confidence and makes them more prepared for future professional and social life. Thus, group work in language learning does not only improve reading and writing skills but also builds real communication abilities and plays an important role in modern education.
