The Implementation of Innovative Teaching Methodologies in the Context of Educational Modernisation in Azerbaijan and The Prospects for Developing Research Skills of Future Teachers

Abstract. The main aim of the article is to substantiate the necessity of preparing future primary school teachers in Azerbaijan in a research-oriented manner and to explore the possibilities of applying modern teaching methodologies in their pedagogical training. The article analyzes the impact of forming future primary school teachers not only as transmitters of knowledge but also as creative thinkers and teacher-researchers capable of conducting independent research on the quality of education. At the same time, the study aims to evaluate the current state of the development of scientific research skills in pedagogical education, review international experiences in this field, and identify new methodological approaches that can be applied in the local educational context. The article also analyzes the level of development of research skills among students and the difficulties they encounter in implementing new teaching methodologies based on surveys conducted among students and pedagogical observations. As a result, the study proposes several scientific and practical recommendations concerning areas that require improvement in teacher education curricula.
