The Pole of the Implementation of the Zangezur Corridor in the Development of Azerbaijan's International Trade Relations
Abstract. The realization of the Zangezur tunnel plays an important strategic role in the development of Azerbaijan's international trade relations. This inlet connects the Naxchivan Muxtar Republic and the main lands of Azerbaijan and provides free shipping and logistics routes in the region. The implementation of the plan will increase the efficiency of trade by reducing transportation costs by approximately 30% and delivery and transit times by 50%. As a result, Azerbaijan's export opportunities are expanded, access to international markets is accelerated and new trade relations are formed. By strengthening the position of the Zangezur tunnel in relation to the Sharq-Qarb and North-South shipping lanes of Azerbaijan, it contributes to the country's international trade system. It accelerates its integration. By merging from Central Asia to Asia, Central Asia and South Africa increases the opportunities for regional fellowship and investment, and creates the opportunity for new trade routes to form. This harms not only the export of naphtha and gas, but also the development of the non-naft sector and the growth of the economy.
At the same time, the Zangezur region ensures a more active participation of Azerbaijan in international trade networks, turning the country into a strategic player in the global market. The increase in the volume of cargo to be carried through the passage increases transit revenues and increases the transparency and speed of operations through multimodal transportation and numerical logistics systems. This also leads to the creation of new workplaces and social-economic growth in the region.
