The Role of Motivation in the Professional Activity of a General Education Teacher

Abstract. Motivation plays an important role in the professional activity of a general education teacher and has been proven to have a direct impact on the quality of the teaching process, the teacher's psychological stability and the learning outcomes of students. The motivation system, professional identity and value orientations work together to create complex mechanisms that provide the teacher with psychological stability in difficult and stressful situations. The interaction of these three elements allows the teacher to develop adaptive behavioral strategies and make effective decisions, and also supports the formation of long-term professional motivation. Studies show that a high level of motivation not only helps the teacher fulfill his professional obligations, but also increases his creative and innovative activity. Motivation encourages the teacher to act with internal interest and self-confidence, which leads to an increase in the activity of students and learning outcomes in the lesson process. At the same time, the role of educational management is to create a stimulating environment for the teacher; transparent assessment, a positive psychological environment and continuous feedback have a significant impact on maintaining and increasing motivation. In the Azerbaijani education system, motivation is also important in terms of the professional development of teachers, their preparation for innovative teaching methods and the effective implementation of the curriculum.
