Əhalinin heyvandarlıq məhsullarına, xüsusəndə, mal ətinə olan tələbatını ödəmək məqsədilə ölkədə heyvandarlığın inkişafına dair Dövlət Proqramı hazırlanıb. Proqramın əsas məqsədi ölkədə yem təsərrüfatçılıq modellərini tətbiq etməklə heyvanların cins tərkibini yaxşılaşdırmaq, heyvan mənşəli məhsulların istehsal həcmini artırmaq, yem ehtiyatlarından, örüş və otlaq sahələrindən daha səmərəli istifadə etməkdir. Odur ki, mövcud heyvandarlıq təsərrüfatlarında damazlıq işinə, heyvanların qiymətləndirilməsinə xüsusi fikir verilməli, hər inəkdən daha çox ət və süd almağın yolları araşdırılmalıdır. Bunun üçün iribuynuzlu heyvandarlıqda biotexnoloji üsullardan istifadə etməklə mövcud heyvan genofondunun məhsuldarlıq göstəricilərini artırmaq olar. Məhsuldarlığın artması fermerlərin gəlirlərinin artmasına, onların maddi rifahının yaxşılaşmasına da şərait yaradacaqdır.

 In order to meet the population's demand for livestock products, especially beef, the country has developed a state program for the development of livestock. The main goal of the program is to improve the breed of animals by applying forage management models in the country, increase the production of animal products, more efficient use of fodder resources, pastures and grazing areas. Therefore, special attention should be paid to breeding and evaluation of animals in existing livestock farms, and ways to get more meat and milk from each cow should be explored. For this purpose, using biotechnological methods in cattle breeding, it is possible to increase the productivity of the existing animal gene pool. Increasing productivity will also increase farmers' incomes and improve their material well-being.
