XII əsr Azərbaycan xalqının ictimai-siyasi inkişafı tarixində xüsusi yer tutur. Bu zaman Azərbaycanda iki əsas dövlət var idi: şimalda Şirvanşahlar, cənubda isə Eldənizlər dövləti. Nizami Gəncəvi bu iki Azərbaycan dövlətinin möhkəmləndiyi bir dövrdə yaşayıb-yaratmış, bu dövrün iqtisadi, ictimai-siyasi həyatını öz ölməz əsərlərində əks etdirmişdir. XII-XIII əsrlər Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatının görkəmli nümayəndələrinin yaradıcılığına nəzər saldıqda, onların hamısını birləşdirən ortaq cəhət əsərlərini fars dilində qələmə almalarıdır. XII əsr Azərbaycan şairi Nizami Gəncəvinin yaradıcılığı ümumilikdə dünya ədəbiyyatının dəyərli nümunələrindəndir.

The Strong Development of the Persian Language in the XII-XIII Centuries
and the Reasons for This
Abstract
The XII century occupies a great place in the history of social and political development of the Azerbaijani people. At that time, there were two main states in Azerbaijan: the Shirvanshahs in the north, and the Eldeniz state in the south. Nizami Ganjavi lived and created in a period when these two Azerbaijani states were strengthened, and reflected the economic, social and political life of this period in his immortal works. When we look at the creativity of prominent representatives of Azerbaijani literature of the XII-XIII centuries, the common feature that unites all of them is that they wrote their works in Persian. The work of the XII century Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi is one of the valuable examples of world literature in general.
