Amiqdala limbik systemin bir hissəsi olub, davranış və fizioloji təzahürlərin inteqrasiyasından məsul olan mütəşəkkil sinir sisteminin bir hissəsi kimi narahatlıq, təcavüz, qorxu, emosional yaddaş və sosial idrakın tənzimlənməsində iştirak edir. Əksər beyin bölgələri kimi, amigdala tək bir kütlə deyil, fərqli nüvələrdən ibarətdir və onun hər bir nüvəsinin unikal giriş və çıxışları var. Amigdala çox sayda normal davranış funksiyaları və psixiatrik vəziyyətlərdə iştirak edən mürəkkəb bir quruluşdur. İnsanların əziyyət çəkdiyi bir sıra neyropsixiatrik xəstəliklər məhz amiqdalanın disfunksiyası ilə əlaqədardır.

Modern information about amigdala
Abstract
The amygdala is part of the limbic system, as part of the organized nervous system, responsible for the integration of behavioral and physiological manifestations, it participates in the regulation of anxiety, aggression, fear, emotional memory and social cognition. Like most brain regions, the amygdala is not a single mass, it consists of different nuclei and each of its cores has unique inputs and outputs. The amygdala is a complex structure that is involved in a large number of normal behavioral functions and psychiatric situations. A number of neuropsychiatric diseases that people suffer from are associated with dysfunction of the amygdala.
