Pedaqogika gənc nəslin təhsiinin, tərbiyəsinin məqsədi, məzmunu, qanunauyğunluqları və səmərəli yollardan bəhs edən elmdir.
Bəşər cəmiyyəti yarandığı gündən yaşlı nəsil gənc nəslin tərbiyəsi qayğısına qalaraq ictimai-tarixi təcrübəni ötürməyə çalışmış, onu əməyə və həyata hazırlamışdır. İctimai həyatın inkişafı həmin təcrübənin xüsusi biliklər, bacarıqlar şəklində ümumiləşdirilməsi pedaqogika elminin yaranmasına sərf olunmuşdur.
Pedaqogikanın bir elm kimi obyekti pedaqoji proses və onun mərkəzində duran insandır. Hər bir elmdə olduğu kimi, pedaqogikanın da özünəməxsus anlayışlar sistemi vardır. Buraya pedaqoji proses, tərbiyə, öünütərbiyə, yenidəntərbiyə, təhsil, təlim, şəxsiyyətin inkişafı və s. anlayışlar daxildir. Pedaqogikanın nəzərdən keçirilən anlayışları bir-biri ilə qarşılıqlı vəhdətdə olub, bir-birini tamamlayır. Onlar birlikdə vahid və bütöv pedaqoji prosesi təşkil edir, şəxsiyyətin ahəngdar inkişafına kömək göstərir.

Abstract
Pedagogy is a science that talks about the purpose, content, regularities and effıcients ways of education and upbringing of the young generation.
Since the beginning of human society, the older generation has taken care of the education of the younger generation and tried to pass on social and historical experience, preparing it for work and life. The development of social life, the generalization of that experience in the form of special knowledge and skills was used to create the science of pedagogy.
The object of pedagogy as a science is the pedagogical process and the person at its center. As in every science, pedagogy has its own system of concepts. This includes the pedagogical process, education, self-education, reeducation, Education, training, personality development, etc. concepts are included. The reviewed concepts of pedagogy are in mutual harmony with each other and complement each other. Together, they form a single and complete pedagogical process help the harmonious development of the personality.
